Ashley Pugh – Producer & Founder of Strict Machine
Over the past 25 years, Ashley Pugh, producer and founder of Strict Machine, has overseen the production of more than 200 projects spanning music videos, commercials, documentaries, live events, and drama productions.
Throughout his career, Ashley has earned widespread recognition for his work. He has won the prestigious Best Producer CAD Award (shortlisted a further two more times) and has won multiple IVCA Awards for standout productions for brands including Chrysler and British Airways, as well as the acclaimed short film Going Over , exploring heroin addiction.
In 2017, he produced Intransit, a short film by David Stuart Snell, which garnered multiple awards on the festival circuit. In 2020, he released the feature film By Light of Desert Night, also directed by Snell, distributed internationally by Gravitas Ventures.
Ashley has also produced the acclaimed Life After documentary series. Life After Flash, exploring the 1980 sci-fi classic Flash Gordon, reached a worldwide audience, followed by Life After The Navigator in 2021. The third instalment, Life After The NeverEnding Story, released in 2024 after winning numerous festival awards. Future projects in the series—including Life After Goodfellas, Life After Goonies, and Life After Grease—are currently in post-production.
In the realm of emerging technologies, Ashley produced and directed the cryptocurrency documentary New Kids On The Blockchain (2020), followed by a sequel (2022) examining the explosion of De-Fi.
